Reimagining classical music – that is the hallmark of Spark. With fresh, energetic interpretations of well-known works, the ensemble also performs internationally. Their blend of virtuosity, spirit, and stylistic openness earned the five musicians the Eecho Klassik in 2011 – and makes them pioneers of a new generation of classical artists.
Subtlety and sophistication also characterize the work of Kurt Tucholsky. Under pseudonyms like Kaspar Hauser, Peter Panter, or Theobald Tiger, he commented on the political and social events of his time with linguistic elegance and literary wit. Especially his letters to Mary Gerold, his second wife, are distinguished by emotional depth and stylistic beauty. Actor Walter Sittler reads from this very personal correspondence, thereby offering a glimpse into Tucholsky's private side.

Olga Grjasnowa strikes a different tone. The author reads from her current novel "July, August, September," in which she tells the story of a young woman whose seemingly orderly life begins to falter. Lou, a secular Jew with Volga German roots, lives with her husband and daughter in Berlin. However, an identity crisis leads her back into her family history – marked by silence, guilt, and unspoken traumas. The question of belonging, origin, and the value of life and memory runs through this powerful novel.
