Jimmy Eat World: "Hear you me, my friends"

20.06.2025
At the Traumzeit Festival in Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord, the US band founded in 1993 provides emotional punk.

When the band Jimmy Eat World released their album "Clarity" in 1999 – along with the song "Lucky Denver Mint" – they could not have anticipated that they had opened and established their own niche of punk rock: emo. The emotional punk. In other words: hard riffs, a lot of melody, a lot of minor, distinctly deep and melancholic lyrics. "Bleed American" as now a recognized band classic, as well as "Futures," confirmed this pioneering role in 2001 and 2004, respectively. Today, the four Americans from Arizona are therefore inseparable from any best list of punk – and live, they remain an experience.
