Locations and dates
The performance/audio installation by Studio Urbanistan asks what place real experiences of war – as a soldier, eyewitness, or refugee – and their invisible consequences have in our society today.
Although many people in Germany have experienced war, these experiences often remain unspeakable and invisible in everyday life. In "Somewhere there's war," a model housing estate serves as the everyday backdrop for a walkable, performative audio installation. Three groups rotate through three locations of the estate in a trilogy without beginning or end, which allows the absurdity of the incomprehensible to flicker in snapshots.
