Can hotel rooms actually work like lockers? Andreas Strauss asked himself this in 2010: The artist quickly developed sleeping cabins, which have since been the "Parkhotel" in Bottrop's BernePark – and likely one of the most unusual overnight accommodations in NRW. For the Emscherkunstweg, he finally expanded his "hospitality devices" to a further location.
At the Emscher-Auen court, Strauss has established three additional canal pipes where one can spend the night. They are equipped with a bed for two people, daylight windows, storage space, bedside lamp, and power outlet, and can be booked from March 29 to October 5, 2025, for a processing fee of 20 euros.
