The new collection presentation: After weeks of reviewing the inventory and renovation, the museum showcases its treasures throughout the entire building.
On display are major works of Impressionism and Expressionism, works of New Objectivity, Constructivism, the Bauhaus masters, and works of Op and Pop Art that have not been shown for a long time. The newly created showcase also offers a new perspective on sculptural artworks from a hundred years of collection history. A seated Buddha from the 18th century exudes contemplative calm, and paintings by Christian Rohlfs hang in the rooms where the studio of the painter and honorary citizen of Hagen was located until 1938. Art and nature meet at "natural relations" in the fountain hall, and "Back to Nature – or?" in the Young Museum. Collection highlights can be rediscovered, and forgotten treasures can be found.
