"Impressively overwhelming and maximally aesthetic": This is how the "Leverkusener Anzeiger" praised the stARTfestival debut of the countertenor Anthony Roth Costanzo, celebrated not only in the queer music theater world, with l'arte del mondo in 2023. Incomparably, he wove together Handel arias, minimal music, pop lyrics, and spectacular video art! He has long belonged to the megastars at the Metropolitan Opera and has been leading Opera Philadelphia since June 2024.

For the stARTfestival 2025, he has been given a Carte Blanche. He will supplement his countertenor repertoire with works by Vivaldi, Mozart, and Osvaldo Golijov with pop standards – specially rearranged for falsetto singing for this evening and performed by a specially assembled ensemble.
