Hugo Ticciati creates surprising connections between yesterday and today with the chamber orchestra he founded, "O/Modernt" (Swedish for "Un/Modern").

Musical drawer thinking is completely foreign to Hugo Ticciati, which is why for the celebrated violinist and conductor, there is no old or new music, only music worth listening to and not worth listening to. Thus, he also creates surprising connections between yesterday and today with the chamber orchestra he founded, “O/Modernt” (Swedish for “Un/Modern”), and he can be experienced not only at the conductor's podium of this first-class ensemble but also at the violin. He performs the violin meditation “Lonely Angel” by Pēteris Vasks, which relates the Latvian composer distantly to Haydn's opera “L’Isola disabitata”. The Swede Albert Schnelzer, on the other hand, was inspired for “Aksak and Ciphers” by Haydn's famous “Farewell Symphony”. And above all hovers like a lonely planet: Beethoven's timelessly awe-inspiring “Great Fugue”.
