The Lindemann Gallery presents an overview of the works of the painter Thomas Thun.
You can tell from the containers that they have been around: on construction sites, parking lots, in industrial areas, and on the remote gravel spots in the suburbs. When the parents' apartment is just trash, when the rubble needs to be cleared from the house, when there needs to be space for something new. There they stand in the city, the red, blue, yellow, green, white, orange, and purple skips among the gray of the middle-class cars. The metal vessels for the inevitable changes – in their various colors, shapes, and sizes.
The painter Tomasz Thun, who grew up in Herne, knows life and understands how to read and represent the signs of our time and society.
