An evening that juggles the nostalgia of life. A wistful look back at the privilege of youth, when being alive was still cool and the view into the future was interesting and frightening, but in a good way.
The news situation is clear: 'Germany. It does not look good. Abroad. It does not look good. Weather. It does not look good,' says Bonn Park's piece "They them Okocha" with music by Ben Roessler. And because one can only confront this fact with lucid humor, it is correspondingly witty in this socialization drama, in which Noah-Wilhelm and his friends Cem, Jürgen A., and Jürgen D. go through three exemplary life phases: the inspiring "Childhood," the comparatively exciting "Puberty+," and the 24-page "Rest." Bonn Park, who also directs, achieves a rare artistic diagnosis of the times: the portrait of a society that no longer becomes adult. ~ Christine Wahl.
