The flourishing film and music industry absorbed influences from all over the world, and thus Cairo also became the birthplace of an unusual new style: the Arabic tango. In it, the unique texture from Latin America combines with classical Egyptian music, and the migrant communities from Italy, France, Greece, Armenia, and Latin America that emerged in Cairo and Alexandria have also left their mark.
