City occupation: "living room"

Art comes to the city and to the river! As part of the "City Occupation," the Bochum sculptor Dorothee Bielfeld has created a sculpture on which one can sit, lie down, and dream. And listen - because events are also planned.

Hattingen is located at the interface between urban and rural areas as well as the Ruhr as an identity-forming element. The city occupation project takes up this dynamic and sets artistic impulses at three symbolic locations in Hattingen with the changeable sculpture "living room" by the Bochum sculptor Dorothee Bielfeld. It invites you to experience landscape and water anew. The central question is: How do we perceive places, and how do they change through art and interaction?

From May 3 to July 8, the sculpture "living room" will be on display in Hattingen. At each location, there will also be an artistic event. It starts on Saturday, May 3 at 5 PM at the Untermarkt. Mayor Dirk Glaser will open the art event together with the dancer Marcela Ruiz Quintero, who will perform a dance performance.
