Everyday materials are transformed into works of art, thus undermining the elitist concept of art in the 1960s and 70s. Even small actions like a simple smile are ascribed artistic value. At the same time, established boundaries between cultural sectors break down: visual artists, musicians, designers, and poets create – often together – works of art.
Learn more about the expanded Fluxus network of Dorothee and Erik Andersch during the opening night in exhibition talks with curator Melanie Seidler and project manager Felicia Rappe. Field experiment #4: Køpcke – Roth also focuses on works and documents by Arthur Køpcke and Dieter Roth, among others, including Shigeko Kubota, George Maciunas, Yoko Ono, Robin Page, and Benjamin Patterson.
