Monsta – formerly known as Harald – lives comfortably under the bed and is a pro at scaring. With sharpened teeth, fur standing on end, and squeaky doors, everything is there to properly frighten the child above him. The deal is clear: Monsta creates fear, the child trembles.
But: Nothing happens. The child simply keeps sleeping – snoring, grinning, completely unimpressed. Monsta is frustrated. What if this child never gets scared?
Dita Zipfel tells with a lot of wit about a monster that wants more than just to haunt – and discovers entirely new sides of itself in the process. A story about big and small fears, about being different, and about why it’s worth taking a closer look. Because monsters may be loud, shaggy, and quirky – but they are also quite lovable.
Directed by Antje Siebers at the Children's and Youth Theatre Dortmund, recommended for ages 4 and up.
