With only two singers, Multiple Voices presents the monumental work "Spem in Alium" by Thomas Tallis from 1570 in Moers.
Terry Wey and Ulfried Staber, who together have a vocal range of three and a half octaves, each take on two of the five voices of the choir. The focus of the project is the idea of hearing the work not vertically, but horizontally, allowing the audience to follow the compositional process. The 40 voices are sung individually and distributed through speakers in the room, with the motet unfolding piece by piece.
