As one of the most representative avant-garde musicians of China, Mamer combines traditional Kazakh folk music, world music, and modern experimental music.
He has founded six bands with different styles, including IZ, Kunakar, 51-RAYON, Mekrop, TAT, and Bande. These bands encompass avant-garde styles such as ambient, industrial, noise, improvisation, experimental, doom drone, and dark drone, and utilize bass and guitar as a creative core to explore the infinite possibilities of sound.
At this year's festival, Mamer will perform both solo and together with Li Daiguo & Lao Dan.
