Water music in the wave pool

27.04.2025
In the live performance "Wellenbad N°42," the floating audience can expect an immersive sound experience - both above and below water.

Joseph Baader, Nathalie Brum, and Vincent Stange have formed the trio Wellenbad to bring unusual music formats into public spaces and to combine architecture with composition. At concerts in Berlin, Bonn, and Düsseldorf, they have already proven that sound art and swimming sports harmonize excellently. At the live concert in the Cologne Lentpark swimming pool, they are supported by the Japanese sound artist Tomoko Sauvage.

The unusual listening experience is generated with special speakers placed underwater. The trio Wellenbad stands at the edge of the pool and plays with computers, analog synthesizers, and voice recordings. The sound produced is specifically optimized for underwater sound – when diving, the audience can expect the most intense auditory experience.

Three concerts will take place at 6, 7, and 8 PM. Admission is included in the regular entrance fee of the swimming pool. No prior registration is necessary.
