At his stART festival debut, tuba player Joshua Williams had the audience dancing with the ensemble European Tuba Power. Now, the stARTacademy scholarship holder reveals other facets of his musician personality: as a soloist, he interprets classical works. He is supported by the Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen from Ghent. While you might not hear it, you will feel that Joshua Williams grew up with the traditional African-American music canon: "Every experience I have as a musician and as a person influences my playing."
