Marc Ribot is a musical chameleon of the highest order. Not only because he can effortlessly switch between mainstream and avant-garde on the guitar. Whether as a sideman or project leader, this man simply never runs out of ideas. Sometimes he ruthlessly tortures his guitar in collaboration with jazz saxophonist John Zorn. Then Ribot slips into quirky Latino sound outfits and occasionally evokes the spirit of free-legend Albert Ayler.
Now the American jack-of-all-trades is out on his own with just his guitar. And what his fan base can expect has recently been described by a critic from the "Financial Times" as: "Marc Ribot's unique approach to the guitar compresses swathes of Americana into a full spectrum of jazz and stirs in a hefty pinch of punk attitude."
