The evening at the Makroscope – Center for Art and Technology as well as Museum for Photocopy, which hosts, among other things, the Shiny Toys Festival and the record label Ana Ott, reflects the expanded understanding of art of the venue. The artists transcend musical boundaries by experimenting with harmony, rhythm, and sound textures. Their performances challenge the traditional structures of tonality and metric and transform them through digital and electroacoustic manipulations. The Sicilian Francesca Guccione combines classical violin music with experimental electronic elements, opening up new harmonic spaces through microtonality and unorthodox sound distortions. Yana Selezneva from Georgia employs contrasting rhythms and rhythmic disruptions that break through the traditional flow of meter and generate emotional intensity. For Blue Noise, Midori Hirano exchanges the piano for the synthesizer and unfolds the possibilities of sound synthesis to redefine textures and frequencies. The live visuals by Markus Wambsganss (Kaliber16) enhance this experimental character by visually translating the sonic dynamics and creating a synesthetic experience.
