Summer at U

From June 1 to August 29, the forecourt of the Dortmund U will once again transform into an open-air festival stage. On three days a week (Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays), the audience can expect concerts, DJ sets, or poetry slams. Here are all the dates.

25 artists, bands, and institutions are participating in the festival. There is a lot of live music available for free – ranging from gospel to pop & rock to hip-hop, children's songs, metal, punk, and jazz.

New this year at "Sommer am U" is, for example, the Schauspiel Dortmund, which is presenting a "Warm up" for its own queer festival. Other newcomers on the Dortmund stage include "Violent Witch Events," which specializes in metal bands with Flinta*-participation, and the Dortmund association of Cameroonian computer scientists and engineers (VKII), whose gospel choir will perform.

On the first Sunday of every month, the Dortmunder U invites families to Family Sunday – in keeping with this, there will be the sounds of children's favorites like "Raketen Erna," "herrH," and "Binyo."
