Peter Rubel and Pedro Goncalves Crescenti are not only likely known as the unmistakable voices of the Düsterboys but also as those of their sister band International Music.
In small ways, new worlds are to be opened up, that is what Pedro Crescenti and Peter Rubel wish for. However, what they achieve with ›Duo Duo‹ is nothing less than gifting us a new world with each of their songs.
As they tenderly pass the words to each other on their guitars, alternating in the performance with complete naturalness and full love for the music, sometimes switching to the second voice and back to the lead singing, it sounds like two people who are doing more than just playing a few songs together.
The lightness, despite the noticeable melancholy, is not least due to the familiarity of the two, who have known each other since youth, but also because they complement each other so excellently. While Pedro is drawn to literature, Peter is occupied with compositions for larger ensembles. Seemingly carefree, they allow their audience to partake in their associative leaps, everyday descriptions, and poetry, between pillows and metaphysics.
