For her reinterpretation of the "Cinderella" fairy tale, Bridget Breiner received the theater award "Der Faust" in 2013, while she was still the ballet director at the Music Theater in the Revier – a witty, visually striking, and humorous interpretation. The American lends impressive relevance to the art of dance storytelling. She refutes any claim that classical narrative ballet is outdated. Breiner is now presenting her work on the Rhine. Inspired by the Ruhr area and American mining tradition, the story takes place in an industrial region – and questions "the evil." Here, a woman finds a provider for herself and her daughter after the death of her husband. The girl Clara, whom the newcomer brings into the marriage, is everybody's darling – to the chagrin of the introverted – central character – Livia. When both girls are introduced to the son of an industrialist at a celebration, the plot intensifies – and takes an entirely unexpected turn. Livia goes her own way.
