Robert Nippoldt's "A Mysterious Glimmer"

bis 26.06.2025
The Münster artist Robert Nippoldt became known as an illustrator of impressive 1920s series. In a "poetic amusement show," he now brings art and music to the stage.

With chalk, pencil, and ink, Robert Nippoldt brings the Berlin City Palace back to life in its old form or returns the roof to the Memorial Church. Welcome to Berlin in the 1920s! Thanks to camera and large projection, the Münster-based illustrator brings his audience up close – to every stroke that the artist's hand puts on paper.

The drawings projected onto the screen during the exhibition are just one part of the repertoire. In perfect symbiosis of sound, acting, and image, a silhouette production of Brecht's Pirate Jenny is created. The Comedian Harmonists dismantle a concert grand in visible and audible ecstasy. One strolls through the capital with open eyes, and a slapstick number pays tribute to the beginnings of sound films.

All of this is enlivened, commented on, and inspired by the three musicians of the Trio Größenwahn, who breathe new life into the classics of that time.
