The production, which has been sold out in Berlin for a year, is a collage about the experiences of motherhood, work and care work, feminism and sons, about the feeling of guilt, about the cult of the good mother, and about what it means when women increasingly choose not to take on unpaid reproductive and care work.
Following the performance, Dr. Christian Utler, a gynecologist and psychotherapist, and the sociologist Prof. Dr. h.c. Jutta Allmendinger will discuss motherhood, the role of the mother in the past, present, and future, and what all this has to do with mental health.
The scientist and professor at the Humboldt University of Berlin advised the creators of the piece. Allmendinger researches, among other things, the sociology of the labor market, the unequal treatment of genders in the workplace, and the sociology of life courses.
