The new work of the Brazilian dancer and choreographer is a performance about geographical, political, social, and personal barriers that extend visibly or invisibly around us.
Walls of barbed wire, concrete, and hedges, but also of convictions, views, and differences. In Portuguese, the word "borda" means not only border, but also derives from the verb "bordar" - to decorate, beautify, or, in a figurative sense, "to imagine." Imagination gives us the possibility to overcome what separates us from each other. How can we carry the land of our visions, desires, memories, futures with us? Perhaps by patiently and laboriously weaving together a porous place of flowing otherness, an embroidery where edges move, float, and dance.
