The swan is considered a symbol of beauty, grace, and elegance not only in the West: it is a central being in Indian mythology and represents the innermost self there. In the intercultural project by l’arte del mondo, orchestra in residence of Bayer Kultur, Tchaikovsky's masterpiece "Swan Lake" merges with the millennia-old Odissi dance: classical ballet that overcomes gravity meets the grounded movements of the ritual Indian temple dance.
