Between canned cherries, a bank account filled with expectations, and the nose of an unknown father, a house full of things is created.
notsopretty is working on a piece about memories that fade, about things as enduring witnesses of the past, about bureaucracy, emotions, and inequality. Who inherits, who is left out? What is it like to live when money no longer plays a role? And how many zeros does a billion actually have?
“A House Full of Stuff” is an invitation to negotiation, reflection, and redistribution with integrated audio description and musical composition.
notsopretty deals with various concepts of inheritance, the bureaucracy behind it, the super-rich and their tax loopholes, but also with emotions and memories - what does our inheritance, the objects from our family home, the photos they left us, tell us about ourselves as individuals? But also looking to the future: What do we want to leave to our descendants? And what if we don't plan to have any descendants?
The performance collective notsopretty, consisting of Anna Júlia Amaral, Marcel Nascimento & Nina Weber, has been developing multimedia performances with video, choreography, and music since 2019 - on stage and in the digital space. What connects them is the love for pop culture: notsopretty joyfully employs their means and creates works that playfully engage with self-presentation and identity constructions - based on origin, gender, and sexuality.
