For many connoisseurs and lovers of the string quartet, few other composers come close to the late quartets of Haydn and Beethoven. Among them is undoubtedly Dmitri Shostakovich, for whom the string quartet was a lifelong companion. The internationally composed and multiple award-winning Asasello Quartet invites you to an uplifting and stimulating musical summit meeting between Haydn, Beethoven, and Shostakovich. Haydn's "Sunrise" quartet is filled with a unique orchestral richness and depth. Shostakovich dedicated his 9th quartet to his third wife as a kind of love gift. Finally, in 1826, Beethoven announced a new era in music with his bold string quartet op. 130 – in which the four string instruments momentarily break into a wordless heavenly song in the "Cavatina".
