Brühl Castle Concerts | Bach at Four: "Home Game"

18.01.2026
The partly historic organ of the Brühl Palace Church is a true gem - and there are hardly any who are more familiar with it than Peter Klasen. For this concert, he has selected Bach works that are particularly close to his heart.

In his role as a pastoral area church musician, Peter Klasen is not only responsible for all musical matters of the Catholic Church in Brühl. He also regularly delights audiences with organ recitals on the Klais organ. This concert is entirely in the spirit of Bach, for which the musician has selected works that are particularly close to his heart. The program includes chorale preludes such as "Vor deinen Thron tret ich" BWV 668, considered Bach's last organ work. An astonishing early work resonates with the partita "Sei gegrüßet, Jesu gütig" BWV 768, which consists of the eponymous chorale and 11 variations. And Bach's engagement with the French style is reflected in the fantasy "Pièce d’orgue" G major BWV 572.
