How much Marsella, who hails from Philadelphia, loves the stylistic challenge and enjoys it can be seen in his various projects. He plays in the 20-member psychedelic jazz world ensemble iMAGiNARiUM and in the surf rock band The Modulators. In addition, he dedicates himself to Brazilian music.

Moreover, he has close contact with the New York avant-gardist John Zorn. It was Zorn who introduced Brian Marsella to drummer Kenny Wollesen and bassist Trevor Dunn in 2016. Since then, they have formed a close-knit community where jazz is redefined.
