Algorithmic Resonances – Music in Dialogue with Human, Machine, and Code: On the third day of the festival in the Old Waiting Room in Herne, artistic practices that redefine the relationship between technology, sound art, and interaction will be explored. The invited artists work in the field of algorithmic composition, a musicological discipline that generates sound through formal rules, machine learning, and systemic processes.
The Latvian-Lithuanian duo The Remains of Decay x Egle Saka combines modular sound design and analog video aesthetics into meditative, audiovisual experiences. The Greek composer Artemi-Maria Gioti works at the intersection of AI, robotics, and participatory music. Her works confront human and machine musicians and question musical authorship. Eckard Koltermann will interpret the piece BIAS II on the bass clarinet. Robert Henke, known as Monolake, has shaped the electronic avant-garde for 30 years and creates audiovisual performances that blend composition, data manipulation, and algorithmic sound design.
