In the portrait: Gallery Cinema

FilmCinemas in NRWVenu
How small can a cinema actually be? Very small! And yet very good, as the little room with about 25 seats in Rüttenscheid proves.

Whoever enters through the door in the basement of a city villa in Essen Rüttenscheid stands right next to the screen in the cinema hall. Only one of the special features of this tiny program cinema. Another: The way to the restroom leads through a kitchen, and in the sanitary area, there is a bathtub. Admission is only due after the advertisements and the trailers.

The Galerie Cinema is still a real program cinema that shows several different films daily. However, on Sundays, it is clear what is playing: Since 1975, the cinema has been showing "Harold And Maude" by Hal Ashby at 4:30 PM in the original version with subtitles – uninterrupted.
