From the traffic building of a Catholic Day to a cultural meeting place: The club "Rotunde" on the site of the former Bochum main train station has a tumultuous history.
The brick building with the striking rotunda was built in 1949 as an emergency station for the 73rd German Catholic Day. After that, the listed building was abandoned until the "Rotunde" club moved in 2010. Besides parties featuring house, drum and bass, reggae, electro, or world music, regular concerts, poetry slams, as well as flea and design markets take place here.
