Christoph Schlingensief was born on October 24, 1960, in Oberhausen and lived there until his studies. He was a well-known film and theater director, author, and performance artist, and is one of the most famous artists from Oberhausen. The Literature House Oberhausen, in cooperation with literaturgebiet.ruhr, in collaboration with the Theater Oberhausen and with the support of the city's cultural office and the Oberhausen continuing education institute, has portrayed the life and work of Christoph Schlingensief in order to present it permanently in the public space of the city.
